The role in practice.

Based in Maidstone, this role connects employers and other organisations with practical AI services and professional development opportunities. You will listen to operational challenges, understand the people and processes involved and help shape an appropriate conversation with Kent’s specialists.

The opportunity may be a focused automation project, a business platform or development for a team. Your judgement matters in separating those needs. Where training involves Kent Business College, the proposal must clearly identify the programme, delivery arrangements and the organisation responsible for it.

Where your contribution matters

  • Develop relevant employer and business relationships through thoughtful research and purposeful conversations.
  • Understand whether a client needs capability development, a process improvement or a new technical solution.
  • Help define a credible starting scope, intended benefit and evidence the client would use to assess progress.
  • Maintain continuity from discovery to proposal and handover, recording commitments and unresolved questions accurately.

Illustrative early priorities.

The first-month plan is discussed with your manager and adjusted to the role, team and starting priorities.

01

Learn the offer and employer context

This illustrative first-months plan will be confirmed with your manager. Understand Kent’s services and relevant training routes, and agree which business needs to prioritise.

02

Develop useful discovery habits

Build conversations around the client’s current workflow and desired change. Identify the decision owner, practical constraints and the right specialists to involve.

03

Create coherent proposals

Bring the commercial and delivery perspectives together. Make the scope and responsibilities understandable, and ensure the receiving team has the context needed to continue.

How the work connects with the team.

  • AI and systems specialists assess the technical aspects of an employer’s challenge.
  • Training colleagues clarify programme content, suitability and delivery arrangements.
  • Management and delivery teams agree commercial commitments and resource requirements.

Prepare for a useful selection conversation.

Explain your relationship-building approach

Describe how you learned about an employer’s needs, earned a further conversation and managed follow-up.

Explore a business scenario

You may discuss whether a proposed problem calls for training, consultancy, automation or further investigation.

Make a proposal understandable

Be ready to show how you explain scope, assumptions and next steps to someone who is not a technical specialist.
